Milava (milava.app) is a family childcare coordination app by Milava LLC. Families can turn on a daily schedule text for their caregiver (for example, a nanny). This page documents exactly how consent is collected and what messages are sent.
Step 1 — A parent enables the feature. Inside the Milava app, on their caregiver's card, a parent turns on "Send daily text" and enters the caregiver's mobile number.
The in-app control, as shown on a caregiver's card.
Step 2 — Milava sends the caregiver one verification message:
Hi Olivia - it's Mike. I use Milava to coordinate our babysitting, and this number handles the texts. Reply YES to connect. Not Olivia? Reply STOP.
Step 3 — Texting begins only if the recipient replies YES. Consent is given by the message recipient themselves, not by the parent. On YES, the caregiver receives:
Milava: You're connected — you'll get a text each morning you're on the schedule. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP anytime to opt out.
If the recipient replies STOP — or never replies — no schedule texts are ever sent.
The verification and confirmation messages, as sent.
At most one schedule message per day the caregiver is scheduled to work, around 7 AM in the family's timezone. Example:
Milava: Good morning Olivia! Today 8am-5pm. Nora: Swim lessons 4:00 pm Schedule & info: https://milava.app/s/… Reply STOP to opt out.
No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent on this program.
